Choosing a 3 Wheel Double Stroller
It's one of the top side-by-side strollers we've tested with an easy ride on rough terrain, and quick turns in tight spaces. It's a great jogger, and folds up easily with the self-standing feature.
However, it has double-action brakes which require the depression of two pedals and isn't able to take infant car seats. This could be a major issue for some parents.
Safety Features

Three-wheel double strollers are more stable than four-wheel models for those who intend to stroll and jog. The reason for this is that they always have two wheels on the floor, while some four-wheelers can lift one wheel off the ground in order to negotiate curbs or other obstacles. The trade-off is that three-wheelers are heavier, which can be a problem when weight is an issue.
Some 3-wheel strollers have pneumatic (air-filled tire) tires. These are great for those who like to jog, and prefer a more comfortable ride over the hard plastic wheels on some products. However, they need regular maintenance and air pressure checks (as well as a tire and pump repair kit) because they are more prone to lose air than their traditional tires. You can find the recommended pressures in the manual of your stroller or on the manufacturer's website.
Strollers that have adjustable handlebars can ease the strain on the neck, arms and back of the person who is pushing them. The best posture for your arms is close to your belly button with your elbows slightly bent and your hands relaxed. A lockable front swivel wheel can also be useful for moving across bumpy or uneven surfaces.
A good brake is essential, and you should test your stroller's brake regularly to ensure that it is engaged quickly and smoothly. Take note of whether the stroller comes with windows that can be opened to reveal the contents or a reclining chair. Both of these features can be helpful if you have toddlers or infants that need to nap while walking around.
The top jogging double strollers have a feature called adjustable tracking. This feature helps keep the front wheel running straight while jogging. It prevents veering that is constant and helps reduce the need for constant manual adjustments while running which can cause fatigue.
It is essential to verify whether the double strollers folded size will fit in your trunk or in your home prior to buying. Check the stroller's shipping and handling costs since they can quickly add up. Also, think about any additional features you may need or want to avoid, such as snack trays and built-in speakers that make the stroller more heavy and less aerodynamic. It could pose a risk of tripping for children in the early years.
Maneuverability
One of the most important aspects to take into consideration when selecting the right stroller is how easy it is to move around. Sadly, double strollers have a tougher time turning and moving through tight spaces than single-seat strollers because of their weight, size and the addition of passengers. This can be quite frustrating when trying to navigate busy sidewalks or supermarket stores with children in tow.
While some of our favorite strollers -- like the Thule Urban Glide 2 Double and Baby Trend Sit 'N Stand Double -- are incredibly easy to push, others are difficult due to their flexing frames or wide wheels. They're also often heavier than many other double strollers, which makes them harder to lift and transport when not in use.
There are plenty of strollers available with great maneuverability, without breaking the bank. We like the phil&teds dot and double kit which lets you transform your stroller that you are using for jogging into a double stroller that can be used with infant car seats. This is a great option for families that are growing or who have small spaces.
The Baby Jogger City Mini Quad and Graco SnugRide 30 Double Stroller are also great models for narrow sidewalks. The latter has an integrated cargo basket that helps you stay organized on your walks.
Another good maneuverable stroller is the Jeep Destination Double Side x Side Ultralight. This is a typical lightweight stroller that is one of the easiest to set up and fold. We like that it's compact when folded and comes with storage bags. Additionally, it's compatible with select infant car seats -- including the fav Graco SnugRide 40 Elite Double -- with the purchase of an adapter (sold separately).
If you're looking to find a flexible stroller that can grow with your family, consider the Vista Double v2 of the UPPAbaby. This innovative product can be used both as a double stroller, or a bike trailer. It lets you go on outdoor adventures with two children at the same time. It's also compatible with several infant car seats, including the Nuna and Maxi-Cosi however, it requires an adapter, which must be purchased separately.
Comfort
If you are walking for hours with your children, you want an item that is comfortable for both of you. A well-designed double stroller should provide a smooth ride and provide both seats with adjustable five-point safety belts. It should also have plenty of storage space for toys and snacks.
A padded handle will make pushing easier. A swivel front wheel is also helpful, particularly on an jogger, to maneuver around tight spaces and curbs. The ability to lock the front swivel wheel to ensure more comfort is perfect for taking your family out on a long stroll or jog.

It also has the quickest and easiest assembly in our test group, requiring only 15 minutes from start to the end.
Most of the double strollers we tested offer decent storage, though some are easier to access than others. The Joovy Caboose ultralight and UPPAbaby graphite both come with large, easily accessible baskets that can support up to 30 pounds. Evenflo Pivot Xplore comes with an enormous storage bin. The Joovy Caboose has a smaller bin that is difficult to reach due to its location under the sliding rear seats.
A triple wheel stroller will be a great option for parents who like taking their kids on runs or hikes. These models come with swivel and locking front wheels for greater mobility, and come with a recline seat and a ratcheting shade canopy to keep your children at ease. These models also feature convenient tray for parents, cup holders, and a storage basket for essentials.
3 wheeler pushchair will have ample storage for the two of you, your kids' snacks and drinks, and any other items you might need. However, the amount of storage varies widely across models. Some, like the Joovy Caboose Ultralight Graphite (the lightest stroller we tested in our group) and the new Summer Infant 3D Pac CS+ Double Stroller are equipped with hanging storage bags at the back of each seat and two parent cupholders. Others, such as the UPPAbaby Vista Double and Joovy ScooterX2 have large baskets that are accessible from the inside.
Some of the best double-strollers come with extra features such as an extendable canopy as well as reclined seats that let you to adjust your child's experience in accordance with weather conditions or mood. And many of them offer car seat compatibility so you can use them from the beginning and then add a child seat or glider board when the time is right to expand your family.

They generally cost less than jogging strollers, but they may lack the extra features and space that you might need if you intend to engage in more prolonged outdoor activities with your kids.
